Setting up the room for a floor recording

This week, I made a video of me setting up the studio to do a floor recording for the coming jam night.  You can see the video:

I’ve broken down the setup here as well:

Track 1 & 2: Vocals – using SM58 microphones.  I’ve had these

Track 3: Bass – done with a DI Box.  We used the bass amp in the room for everyone to hear.

Track 4: Guitar Amp – used an SM57 placed on the amp speaker, we used a Fender Twin Reverb amp and a Bad Monkey pedal for distortion.

Track 5: Snare Drum – used a Pyle drum mic.

Track 6: Kick Drum – used a Pyle bass drum mic.

Track 7 & 8: Overheads for the drum.

I didn’t use any compression or gating, we can do that later once everything is completed.  That’ll be another video.

Hope you like and subscribe to the channel.  I’ll have a video every Monday.
